After a successful career on Wall Street, Kate Morris decided to pursue her lifelong passion for interior design and founded Morris House Antiques & Interiors.
Trained at the New York School of Interior Design, she embarked on her new profession with projects on the East and West Coasts where she and her family split their time.
Kate describes her design style as transitional, mixing contemporary and traditional elements. Her body of work includes interiors in a variety of settings, from classic to modern. In addition, Kate’s extensive experience with historic renovation and preservation projects informs her aesthetic.
“I try to achieve in a space a sense of timelessness by layering periods to create a subtle harmony while satisfying the desires of my clients.” She also notes her penchant for balance and symmetry. “Co-workers call me ‘Eagle Eye’ because it is not unusual for me to spot that a painting is hung a fraction off center. That’s both a gift and a challenge!”
Kate is solutions-oriented and enjoys collaborating with clients in a way that reflects their personal taste and priorities while achieving a cohesive and pleasing aesthetic.
